Bulgaria’s Bangaranga secures shock victory before Israel and Romania, Delta Goodrem comes in 4th
Bulgaria has won the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Dara won both the televoting and the jury voting by a landslide with her song “Bangaranga”. Israel came in 2nd and Romania finished 3rd, while Delta Goodrem secured a 4th place for Australia.
Top favorite Finland finished in 6th place with their song “Liekinheitin”, while Greece only barely finished inside the top 10 with “Ferto”.
For Bulgaria, the victory comes at a special moment in time, after the country had withdrawn from the Eurovision Song Contest before coming back this year to win it all. It marks a sharp shift towards a new generation, with “Bangaranga” being a popular song among a younger audience. Whether Bulgaria can host Eurovision in its capital Sofia next year, remains to be seen.
