Käärjä won semi final 1 ahead of Loreen, Latvia missed Grand Final on 3 points difference

Finland, not Sweden was the winner of the first semi final of Eurovision 2023. Käärijä received 177 points to win the semi final with his song “Cha Cha Cha”. Sweden’s Loreen, the eventual winner of the contest, finished in second place in the semi final with 135 points.
Latvia did not qualify for the Grand Final for the 6th edition in a row. However, the Baltic country came very, very close this time. The band Sudden Lights finished in 11th place with 34 points, only 3 points behind Luke Black from Serbia.
